Alvin Puga Uneng 11, the third of four siblings had sneaked out of his house at 3 pm without telling his family where he was going.
The villagers had often warned children to stay away from 7-feet deep pond.
Two youths from the same kampung, Raymond Tuba 17 and Tyson Ambes 16 were collecting woods in the jungle nearby when they heard of scream from Alvin's friends.
They rushed to the pond and was told that Alvin was missing. Both jumped into the pond and found the body at about 5 pm.
Alvin's mother who operated a stall near the kampong rushed home when she was told of the incident.
Her husband who worked in Jalan Abell also rushed back after being informed.
