Jong See Chee who completed his SPM with good result had applied for 10 jobs since 2009 in the government service but till now, he was never given the chance to serve in the government sector.
Jong who told reporters with MP Kuching Chong Chieng Jen said he applied for 5 places as medical assistant and lab assistant was called for one interview. He did not get the job.
This year, he applied again for 5 times for the same post and was again called for interview. Although he was rejected, he was never made known why he was unsuccessful.
Jong said during the interview, irrelevant questions were posed to him like how did he come to the interview, what did he use to come to the interview among other thing. The interview did not touch on his interest to serve or his qualification.
Throughout the interview where there were 80 applicants, Jong said there were only five Chinese called to the interview. He said the interviewers were not friendly and spoke in curt voices to him like he was wasting his time there.
Chong said it is time, the government sectors realised that Chinese are genuine to serve in the government but they are the ones who made it difficult for the Chinese to get into the job. He said the interviewers should also let the applicants know why they failed to secure the jobs.
